"Brilliant! Incredibly supportive and inclusive and worked with everyone where they were at."
"I absolutely loved it! I felt so liberated. I feel as though it has effected every part of my life. I walk with a new confidence and just feel as thought I am connecting with others more sincerely than ever before. It’s amazing how being clear and definite about boundaries they in effect open greater more satisfying opportunities."
"Great workshop for all aspects of personal development. The best part of feeling "normal" after seeing such a diverse group of participants. Indeed everyone was welcome."
"Incredible! It was an amazing experience. I appreciated the down to earth approach. Safety, inclusiveness, de-mystifying. I think absolutely everybody that is interested in sexuality could benefit from participating in this workshop, not just party attendees."
"Very welcoming and inclusive! I really liked the facilitators, Rog and Tess were really amazing at running the day. There was nothing I didn't like! Wonderful day! Thank-you for making this so accessible and safe."
"Loved the clarity I got about what the play space actually is, and as a first-timer I feel much better going in."
"Overall, fabulous. Liked: the clear emphasis of inclusiveness from the start, the light-heartedness even though some of the topics had potential to be "heavy", the mix of practical and talk, the pacing, the other attendees. Nothing I didn't like. A great experience even if one did nothing else with the Curious community afterwards. Overall - a "one off". The world needs more of this kind of endeavour! Well done!"
"Very enlightening, educational and enticing in a fun and safe way. Certainly opened our eyes and stimulated ideas, thoughts and fantasies."
"Thank you for running a great course and congratulations to all on a great community."
"Just a huge thanks guys and girls! We've been searching for our place to play and I'm pretty sure this is it. Can't wait for the next play party."
"It was delightful! I loved the environment and the culture within it. It was the most welcoming and inviting of all the play spaces I have attended."
"I feel that these workshops are such a great opportunity for self-development and empowerment, as well as lots of fun. I was so glad to be in a space where there is so much education, respect, awareness of sexual and gender diversity..so refreshing and enlivening. At the end of the last exercise, I felt like I was in an altered state - the experience was so sexy for me. Since Sunday, I have had some trouble sleeping , as I feel my body has come alive, and I keep remembering how I felt..how aroused..and have such excitement and anticipation for the Play party Saturday night."
"Loved - everything"
"Couldn't fault it"
"It was a profound experience, the deepest form or self development I have done for a long time. Being someone who is passionate about challenging limiting conventions, this was the first time I had applied it practically on such and intimate level. There were things I found challenging as I have had trouble in the past with defining my own personal boundaries. I loved everything about the workshop."
"Loved the workshop and the play and debrief. Roger has a wonderful gentle and self effacing style. I would have appreciated more time on the exercises. [A] beautifully held space and a great experience."
"This is fast becoming the steepest and most important learning curve of my life, and it is already a source of many extraordinary revelations. I am genuinely intrigued by the possibilities of this entire structure and vibe because it is so in sync with my own long-held beliefs. I had some stumbles and they've been real lesson for me in this awakening. The respect, inclusiveness, boldness, raunchiness, and genuine warmth I witnessed were, frankly, my tribe singing to me. I want to be worthy of them. Favourite part: the debrief / aftercare. That, for me, is what it's all about - the longterm take-home. That's what changes lives and worlds."
"I think you're stuck with me."
"I'm really inspired by what's going on with the Curious Collective. Highly regard the ethical and inclusive approach. The emphasis on communication is greatly appreciated. Very well run and managed. Beyond wildest expectations. I'm enthusiastic to learn and grow in this space. Thank you :)"
"It was overall great. Quite challenging, exciting, thought-provoking and also comforting."
"Highly recommend and will be doing future events"
"An amazing experience that I will enjoy again as I already have tickets for the next one. There was nothing not to like, and the word like understates my feelings for the event. I have never felt so accepted, empowered, and free to be me in my life. Thank you!"
"Quite brilliant! I’m usually uncomfortable in social situations , and I was apprehensive about the event, but the very professional structuring and the wealth of explanation allowed me to feel safe and included. I had a wonderful experience, was accepted with kindness and love."
"I found the workshop to be well facilitated and to deliver pretty much exactly as advertised. It wasn't especially challenging for me as the concepts being introduced were all already familiar to me; even so, I found the delivery of these to be very engaging and I enjoyed the refresher-course in every single concept. I felt very calm and welcomed - I really appreciated how queer-friendly the workshop was and for the way that it actively functions to build a culture that is non-judgemental and welcoming of people who are often marginalized in society. I was really pleased to hear stories from other participants returning to the workshop of how Curiosity has helped to build a culture where people can learn to love their bodies - regardless of age, fatness, thiness, or any other sense of not-beautiful enoughness that broader society perpetuates. I also found that the space was able to adapt to my particular disability (if not yet all disabilities) and the facilitators demonstrated a keen awareness of the support strategies that can help people needing to manage mental-health challenges (such as providing trigger-warnings and openly discussing the tension between creating safer-spaces and non-judgemental spaces). There was nothing I didn't like."
"I found the combination of the workshop, party, and debrief to be really well organised and developed in ways that felt like it genuinely contributed to building a community with shared values. I am usually find social activities cost me a lot of energy and this cost me far lest then expected - primarily, I think, because all the interactions were conducted with explicit and clearly-structured forms of communication and expectations so that I didn't have to double-guess myself. While the concepts of such communication are not new to me, I think this was the first time I had been in a room with more than 5people were everyone else shared these concepts with me to a degree that was reliably acted upon. That was very heartening to experience!"
"I loved it. I loved the sense of ease and comfort I experienced the moment I walked in (which is pretty significant considering I (a) showed up alone and (b) had only booked the workshop the previous day). I loved the facilitators' style and presentation. It struck the right balance between information and serious on one hand, and playful and fun on the other. It felt clear that this was an education that every single youth / student should receive and I felt very grateful to be part of it."
"I have already recommended the workshop to so many people! Thank you so much for having me, I totally loved it."
"My favourite part was when you asked us to rate our answers to questions out of 3 in our own heads. To help manage expectations. It really worked and I feel that all events should do something similar. So clever! It really helped my partner and I to see where we were at and prepared us. After discussing with my partner our expectations we decided to push back our party attendance to a later date as we were going in with very different expectations."
"The workshop was great. I'd done a lot of my homework on consent and communication and the instruction and interactions this workshop provided really gave me the opportunity to do it in practice. I liked all of it. It was quite evident that a lot of work and trial and error had gone into making this workshop what it is today."
"Really relaxed atmosphere, all kinds of people. I liked the design and structure of the workshop. Each element really helped me to build new skills or learn new things. I did feel it was a very long workshop but I understand the need for that to allow the important questions and discussion time."
"What a workshop - I watched the group go from nervous to empowered. It was very sex-positive, and taught the essentials of good communication and consent practice thoroughly. More importantly we did several practice exercises that really bought the lessons home. I can see how this helps make attending a sexparty much much safer and easier (for everyone)."
